the relisation my first 10 day silent retreat gave me was; just how much energy is used in talking, sometimes only to distance us further from people, and how much energy is not only 'freed up' in silence, but how much more we learn about ourselves and others by just 'being'. xx

Hey Bro,
What an awesome experience. I like Joey's Qoute and I really like what you say at the end about the Answers have been there all the time. Your experience must really let the Ego get out of the way and find your real self.

So, I've never been silent for that long, and I wonder where my mind would retreat to if it had reached the end of it's familiar spots. I wonder if I would get bored with myself or more excited by what I found. and I wonder what would emerge after a deep purging of body and soul.

thank you for sharing your experience. I enjoy living vicariously through you.

Hello..

I did a 10-day silent and meditation retreat in Dharmashala last year..I believe when you finally go into silence for such lengths...your self starts giving up all the extra clutter-mainly inhibitions, fear, ego, pride, responsibilities and all those conditionings that the society has taught us over the years. what you then come to recognize is just yourself, how u were really made-just a body of peace-and when peace overflows love and compassion follows....

Hi Lisa,

I'm sure there are many places you could go -- this place was great though.

It is located in Surat, India.
Called the Hari Om Ashram.

Very loving people.

Here is one of the email addresses for someone who may be willing to help you have an experience if you are interested.

Sometimes they are booked years in advance, but perhaps he can help: navnit62 (at) yahoo.com
